Many of the wines we feature are result
of special relationships with certain winemakers and vineyards. It
is these relationships that make up the core of our wine selection
and make it one of the finest in the area.
We are one of the few wineshops that can
even put these wines on the shelf. We
have an exclusive relationship with this important winery that allows
us to carry their wonderful wines from the Napa Valley. Please inquire
a to find out what we have in stock.
From a family with five generations in the
wine industry, Joel Gott has become a reliable producer of wonderful
wines (especially Zinfandels) at quite drinkable prices. A mainstay
in the Napa Valley with Calistoga's finest grocery and Napa's coolest
hot dog stand, we are quite happy to offer his latest Zinfandel
at 10% off. www.gottwines.com
Happy to have a neighborly relationship
with this winemaker (Laurent Bentitou, who actually resides a few
blocks away from us at Selland's) we proudly feature his 2000 Merlot.
This excellent wine is available at a most reasonable price - his
aim being to make a fine wine that one can afford to drink with
each meal. Take a peek at his wonderful websites, which explains
his French upbringing, wine notes, and a wonderful list of cheese
pairings. www.chateaulaurent.com
Miner Family - "At Miner Family Vineyards,
we focus on making small lots of "terroir" based wines,
meaning we strive to make wines that reflect the distinct qualities
of individual vineyards or regions." www.minerfamily.com
Pisoni Vineyards - "Pisoni Vineyards

Viader - "Viader produces less than
5,000 cases per year. The blend of 60% Cabernet and 40% Cabernet
Franc enhances the wine with great aromatics and bright cherry fruit.
Viader prides itself in producing wines that are 100% organically
grown, hand farmed with very low yields per acre." www.viader.com
Neal Family Vineyards - "It is our
goal to craft superior valley and mountain-grown wines produced
and bottled right here on Howell Mountain in Napa County, CA."

Forefathers - The name "Forefathers"
is used to represent the unique qualities of the various varieties
selected. These varieties are Sauvignon Blanc represented by Marlborough
in New Zealand, Shiraz represented by Australia, and Cabernet represented
by California in the US.
Each of these wines comes from a single vineyard in the premium
appellation in each country for the variety. The approach is "hands-off"
winemaking, in an attempt to show the true attributes for which
Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough is known." www.forefatherswine.com
Destino Vineyards - "Destino is a
Spanish word meaning fate or destination. It has been our good fortune
to be associated with exceptional growers and a talented team of
superb winemakers who focus on making the best possible wine from
these grapes." www.destinowines.com
Lewis Cellars - "From low-yielding
Pritchard Hill and Oak Knoll vineyards comes our seductive 2001
Merlot. The wine is downright sexy with sweet cedar, clove and spicy
oak aromas swirling above a juicy cushion of black plum fruit. Finely
polished and cloaked in round, integrated tannins this Merlot achieves
a subtle balance of power and grace. 900 cases produced." www.lewiscellars.com
Shafer Vineyards - "With this Syrah,
Shafer honors Winemaker Elias Fernandez, whose relentless pursuit
of quality has marked his nearly two decades at Shafer Vineyards.
Multi-layered and expansive, Relentless combines the concentrated
black cherry and blackberry flavors of Petite Sirah with black pepper
spice and an earthiness derived from Syrah" www.shafervineyards.com
Dutch Bill Creek Winery - Located on the
historic 100 year-old Heintz Ranch in the hills above Occidental,
California, Dutch Bill Creek Winery is uniquely situated within
three prestigious wine appellations.
Our label pays tribute to William Dutch Bill" Howard,
a hardheaded, unorthodox character who originally settled the area
in the late-1800s when the North Pacific Coast Railroad served as
a connection to and from San Francisco for the transport of timber,
local produce and ... wine. www.dutchbillcreekwinery.com
Frank Family Vineyard's 2001 Napa Valley
Chardonnay received the top rating of 92 points in the most recent
Wine Spectator Weekly. Wine Spectator writes: "A fat, ripe,
opulent style, with rich fig, apricot, honeydew melon and hazelnut
flavors. The acidity keeps the flavor fresh and vibrant, holding
a tight focus on a long, saturated aftertaste that keeps the flavors
pumping out." www.frankfamilyvineyards.com
